The Executive Director serves as the chief executive officer of Brevard Cultural Alliance (BCA), the designated local arts and cultural affairs agency for Brevard County. The Executive Director provides visionary leadership, strategic direction, operational oversight, and community advocacy in support of BCA’s mission to build a vibrant and dynamic arts and cultural sector integral to Brevard County’s quality of life.

 Working in partnership with the Board of Directors, staff, community stakeholders, government agencies, artists, cultural organizations, tourism partners, educators, and donors, the Executive Director advances BCA’s role as the countywide umbrella organization for arts and cultural activities throughout Brevard County.

 The Executive Director is responsible for organizational leadership, strategic implementation, financial stewardship, fundraising, public engagement, grant and contract compliance, staff leadership, and community partnership development.
 Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Strategy
 Provide strategic leadership and vision consistent with BCA’s mission, bylaws, county agreements, and strategic priorities.
 Lead implementation of organizational goals, initiatives, and annual work plans approved by the Board of Directors.
 Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for BCA and the arts and cultural sector throughout Brevard County.
 Strengthen BCA’s visibility, impact, and reputation as the county’s designated arts and cultural agency.
 Foster a collaborative, mission-driven organizational culture that supports innovation, inclusion, accountability, and professional excellence.

Board Relations & Governance
 Work closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee to support effective governance and organizational leadership.
 Provide regular reports, recommendations, and updates regarding operations, finances, programs, strategic initiatives, and community impact.
 Support Board committee activities and assist with long-range strategic planning.
 Ensure compliance with organizational bylaws, Board policies, applicable laws, and public accountability requirements.
 Assist with Board development, orientation, and engagement efforts.

Financial Management & Compliance
 Oversee the fiscal operations of BCA, including budgeting, financial planning, internal controls, reporting, and audits.
 Ensure responsible stewardship of public and private funds.
 Manage county agreements, grants, contracts, and funding requirements in compliance with all applicable regulations and reporting obligations.
 Develop and monitor annual operating budgets in partnership with the Board and Finance Committee.
 Ensure financial transparency and maintain sound financial management practices.

Fundraising & Resource Development
 Lead fundraising, sponsorship, grant development, donor cultivation, and resource development efforts.
 Build and maintain strong relationships with philanthropic partners, businesses, foundations, government entities, and individual donors.
 Support efforts to diversify and strengthen organizational revenue streams.
 Work collaboratively with the Board and relevant board committees to meet fundraising goals.

Community & Cultural Leadership
 Serve as a visible and active leader within the Brevard County arts and cultural community.
 Develop and strengthen partnerships with artists, cultural organizations, educational institutions, tourism organizations, municipalities, businesses, and community leaders.
 Promote the value and impact of arts and culture on quality of life, economic development, tourism, education, and community engagement.
 Support initiatives that increase public participation in arts and cultural programming throughout Brevard County.
 Represent BCA in public meetings, community events, and professional organizations.

Staff Leadership & Operations
 Provide leadership, supervision, mentorship, and evaluation of BCA staff and contractors.
 Ensure effective day-to-day organizational operations and administrative management.
 Promote professional development and maintain a productive and collaborative workplace environment.
 Implement policies and procedures consistent with the employee handbook and organizational standards.
 Oversee operational systems, facilities, technology, and administrative functions.

Reporting Relationship
 The Executive Director reports directly to the BCA Board of Directors.

Work Environment
 This position requires attendance at Board meetings, community events, public functions, and occasional evening or weekend activities. Some local travel within Brevard County may be required.
 Qualifications
Qualifications
 Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, arts administration, public administration, business administration, communications, or related field or 5 to 7 years equivalent experience.
 Minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership experience in nonprofit, arts, cultural, governmental, or community-based organizations.
 Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, financial management, fundraising, and staff supervision.
 Experience working with boards, committees, public agencies, and community stakeholders.
 Strong public speaking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
 Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications
 Experience in arts and cultural administration.
 Knowledge of public funding, grants management, and nonprofit compliance requirements.
 Familiarity with Brevard County and the regional arts and cultural community.
 Experience in advocacy, tourism, economic development, or community engagement initiatives.

 $59,058.98 - $74,058.98 yearly
